One still needs to retain the H1 so their dependants could have the H4. So, until the dates open up again there is no end in sight for the other benefits such as EAD etc.
If it is any solace, you actually did not miss the boat!

I never got any notification of any file transfer from NSC to TSC. I do not know if that happened or not.

Was your 485 transferred to TSC or NSC ? If so, did the Transfer notice have a different Receipt date ?

Thanks LONGGCQUE and forgerator. For the benefit of others, I will post the time time it took to get approval as soon as I get it.
It seems Feb 2011 is a golden era for PERM approvals , almost similar effect of July 2007. I have noticed people who filed in February got their PERM approvals in under 2 weeks.
I just got a response today from my employer that my labor has been approved today :D under EB3. It was applied on March 29 & approved today (May 25) its just shy of 2 months.

There are about 18K CP cases.
Yeah but if the PDs are set as unavailable, what can they do about those cases anyway, as the priority date has to be current on the day of approval in the consulate.
Furthermore, unlike with 485s they can't consular process 18K cases on a Sunday! It is not a centralised process for them to do that.

The calculations below is not to scare anyone but it may very well a reality. Based on the assumptions below, some people may have to wait up to 20 months to get a EAD card: Ouch!

Ofcourse PD is considered for VISA numbers, not the RD. RD is good for portability issues like AC21/180 days rule.

This center is one of two locations where PERM labor certifications are adjudicated. The other location is in Chicago. This slow-down is a marked change from the generally fast PERM labor certification decisions that had become the norm.

We were advised that personnel temporarily had been reallocated away from the PERM cases. The Atlanta Processing Center also processes temporary labor certifications needed in H2B cases. Due to demand and time constraints, personnel were diverted to work on the temporary labor certifications, which meant delays in the PERM labor certifications.

I don't understand how removing the country limit may have resorce implications, as how I understand is, instead of adjucation an EB-2(2008) from Mali you'll be adjucating an EB-2(2004) from India, what difference it is for them ???
It certainly would at the consular posts, esp India and China. It may not impact how the applications are handled with in USCIS.

i just returned from an infopass meeting... the guy i talked to said that they recently have a directive from the DHS/USCIS that they want to separate the legal stuff from the illegal stuff and hence they are planning to adjudicate a record number of EB apps in the next quarter or two... does anyone else concur? is this true or were my ears just ringing in that meeting?

A Lot goes on in the last 2-qtrs, especially in last qtr(july-sept). I won't be surprised if he is right. There are many loop-holes they may want to plug before CIR or any immigration reform takes shape.
