    We applied for our EAD renewal with following status till date

    My Details

    EAD Applied : Oct 9, 2008
    Card production ordered : Nov 17, 2008 (Not yet recieved)
    Approval notice sent :Nov 26, 2008 (Not yet recieved)

    Spouse Details

    EAD Applied : Oct 9, 2008
    Card production ordered : Nov 21, 2008 (recieved on Nov 24, 2008)
    Approval notice sent :Nov 24, 2008 (Not yet recieved)

    I am kind of worried as it has been more than 2 weeks and I have not yet recieved my EAD while my spouse's came within 3 days.

    I was wondering if someone got his/her card even after 2 weeks as generally it take 5-10 days. Any advice would be highly appreciated.

    I don't think I've ever seen a discount, Canon triple rebates, or any low prices in general over here...

    Your prices are lower *and* you get rebates - not that I want the Kodak dSLR, but it's still not fair. :)

    Can i cancel appoinment one day before.
    I saw in www.vfs-usa.co.in website ,have to cancel before two working days of appointment day.
    If i cancel appointmentafter few days will i have to fill again DS156,157 forms for appointment.
    In website they said cant cancel appointment 2 times.After 2 times cancelation have to wait 90 days with that hdfc barcode.
    Before 90 days period can we fix new appoinment by paying agian into HDFC bank.Is this possible new appointment with new barcode.

    Hi,

    I had applied for 485 without EAD/AP since we wanted to file it on July 2nd. Still waiting for the receipt. Recently our lawyer sent the EAD/AP application based on the new rule, with just the FEDEX receipt confirmation of the 485 application. However, he sent the application to CA Service Center stating that based on the new direct filing rule, it can be sent to the local Service Center.

    Is that right? Anyone with similar experience or insights. As far as I know it has to be sent to the same service center where we applied for 485 (NSC).

    Any document or FAQ from USCIS that can clarify this issue?

    Can i travel on my H1B and Advance parole (EAD) and maintain the same H1B when i come back to the US? I've heard rumors that I will be forced to use the EAD on arriving at the airport. Hence I will lose my H1B (They have been serving as backups to each other)

    Here are some additional details:
    - Currently working for a company as an employee on my H1B
    - H1b doesn't have valid stamping (should i go that route and get that??)
    - My 485 Pending. Priority date is Aug 2005 on EB3
    - Indian Citizen but born in Africa (EB3 is Rest of the World)
    - Have had my EAD for the past two years (havent used it).
    - i switched over companies last year and ported the greencard process - AC21
    - I have an expired Advance Parole i filed over an 1 1/2 years ago (never used it) and was planning on re-applying for it
    - I've lived in the US for the past 15 years and have at no point been illegal.
    - Planning to travel to Europe in June.

    I am a July filer and have the option of working for a reputable company as expert consultant for 6 months (initial offer). Yates memo indicates that self-employment is possible. Here is my question: Do we need to register a company to be considered self-employed? As a consultant you may not have a customer for while. Isn't it better to register a company if you want to claim self employment? What are the pros and cons of registering a company?

    I am trying to make a FOIA request for specific documents within my file.

    I would like to have any document that states the exact date my AOS application was entered, such as the receipt (which I dont have). Does anyone know which form or document I can specifically ask for that will state this?

    They can pay you in anything they like for immigration purposes. US immigration doesn't care what you get paid when you're outside the US.

    Hi Guys,
    My I-140 was processed at the Nebraska center, but my attorney sent the I-485 case to Texas Service center. Since my I-140 was filed at Nebraska, I was expecting my I-485 would be sent Nebraska also.

    Should it be sent to Texas center or Nebraska?

    Hello All,

    I had attended H1 interview in last week of Nov 2007. I had got 221g BLUE form to submit additional documents from Petitioner.

    I submitted all documents through VFS drop box in last week of Jan 2008. Does anyone has any idea within how many weeks time we will get some response from Chennai consulate?

    I was not asked to submit passport and hence I havent submitted passport.
    I appreciate any inputs from any one.
